Jonny started by being asked to play the guiro in a nursery play and showed remarkable aptitude, Inigo would regulary sing with his enormous extended family as a pastime in their shared house,
Frank was asked by a school friend to learn bass and join his jazz quartet and Will’s father was a stern kit player, one thing led to another.
What would be your ultimate aim in the industry?
To write, record and perform.
How long have you been writing your own music?
Individually since the ages of 14, as a band just over a year.
Who are your top three influences and why?
ABBA, (they are the A Team of pop music and Benny Anderrson is their Hannibal). Steely Dan (who are probably more like the Munsters) were able to overcome their horrifying appearance and show the world they had real feelings just like you and me – an inspiration to us all. Thirdly, Martin Scorcese, who has excellent musical taste.
Is there anything you would like people to know about your current release?
If you could tell them it’s nominated for next years ivor novello that would be a massive help. You can find them here at http://www.nude-band.com.
Where are you based and what’s your local scene like? Any favourite venues?
We are based in Manchester on the curry mile, there are pockets of live music and curries are abundant. We were fond of the Bakers Vault in Stockport but they closed it down which is a shame. Night and Day is also a good venue, but thats also under threat as it has been given a noise abatement notice (wont be able to hold live music nights) and thus they might have to change their name to just ‘Day’.
Who else can you recommend from your local scene for people to have a listen to?
‘Mouse Outfit’ ‘Salutation Dub’ and ‘The Phalliciphers’
