Vida Q&A

How did you get your initial start in music?

  • We have all been really into music from a young age, and over time we kind of met each other, jammed and the rest is history.

What would be your ultimate aim in the industry?

  • To sell out mass amounts of stadiums and arenas all over the world and getting a number 1 album.

How long have you been writing your own music?

  • We all write music here and there, Nathan (lead guitar) has been writing since he was 16 and Jamie (singer) since he was 18/19, so a good couple of years.

Who are your top three influences and why?

  • The Rolling Stones, the Beatles and the Arctic Monkeys/Oasis

The rolling stones have this raw energy in their songs, we like that.

The beatles have always been the greatest songwriters, and their songs are all different, you can see their progression in music and the times throughout the albums.

Its hard to pick between Oasis and the Arctic monkeys as both bands are massive to us and we see them as pioneers of their era. Oasis made tunes for the people, and that’s what we like about them, every tune’s got a meaning behind it or a banging chorus! And the Arctic Monkeys are like the Beatles of our generation; they have changed their style with every album, keeping it fresh and interesting.

Is there anything you would like people to know about your current release?

  • We just hope people enjoy our music and come and see us live to hear the rest.

Where are you based and what’s your local scene like? Any favourite venues?

  • We are based in a place called Alloa, its in a small County in Scotland called Clackmannanshire. The music scenes non-existent in our town, so we try and get our music out into bigger cities such as Glasgow or Edinburgh. And our favorite venue has to be king tuts in Glasgow, it’s a tiny venue and the sound in there is frightening!

Who else can you recommend from your local scene for people to have a listen to?

  • Give Jim Valentine a listen to, quality rock and roll.

Give our readers a round up of where they can find you online and hear more of your music.
