Proud Honey – Interview

How did you get your initial start in music?

By forming and playing in various bands over the years. Most of limited success!

What would be your ultimate aim in the industry?

We’d settle for a monogrammed helicopter.

How long have you been writing your own music?

Since the start really. Have always written songs or riffs/ grooves. Nothing beats getting your own music off the ground with other musicians.

Who are your top three influences and why?

The band have a pretty diverse set. Oskie likes his post punk and idie stuff (Joy Division, The Verve, Primal Scream), Stuart loves the Stone Roses, Stereophonics and Oasis Hugh likes his late 60’s British stuff (Kinks, The Creation, Traffic) and Euan likes Morecambe and Wise….

Is there anything you would like people to know about your current release?

It’s a good tune, we’ve put a lot into it.  Give it a listen.

Where are you based and what’s your local scene like? Any favourite venues?

Glasgow. Good vibrant scene. A lot of diverse music talents and busy gigs. Well worth a visit. Favourite venue would be the renowned King Tut’s. We always enjoy playing there.

Who else can you recommend from your local scene for people to have a listen to?

Please check out Memory Man, great Smiths-influenced band who’ve just released their EP, Lost Lovers.

Give our readers a round up of where they can find you online and hear more of your music.

We are on the usual suspects as well:
